Warranty....

Re-refined lubricants must pass the same cold start, pumpability, rust, corrosion, engine wear, high temperature oil thickening, deposit and phosphorous tests that virgin oils do. The normal OEM Warranty will be supported provided you use oils which comply with the service requirements specified in the equipment handbook or relevant OEM publications.

Vehicle and engine manufacturers such as Ford, GM, Chrysler, Mercedes Benz, Caterpillar and Detroit Diesel have all gone on record to state that using certified re-refined oil does not affect warranty coverage. In fact, Detroit Diesel specifies a preference for re-refined oil due to its superior consistency.

Consistency…

In Australia, the Government compliance requirements require very tight control of the re-refining process from collection to delivery of the end product. At all points in the EnviroOil cycle, the collection, used oil quality control, re-refining, lubricant blending and delivery are carried out by ISO 9001 qualified organisations following audited procedures.

Most end-users assume incorrectly that re-refined base oils are less consistent than their virgin base oil equivalents. In fact, provided the re-refining is carried out correctly, by subjecting the used oil to the same processes as those applied to produce virgin base oils, re-refined base oils are more consistent. We produce an annual report on the consistency of the refineries used to supply our base oils each financial year. The report is available if required and demonstrates very high consistency in both the physical properties and chemical structure of the base oil

OEM's and Industry bodies also recognise the consistency and quality of re-refining (when properly done). The follwing quote is extracted from the Detroit Diesel Fluid Handbook 2005

"Detroit Diesel favors the recycling of waste oil and permits the use of rerefined oils in all engine product lines, provided the rerefined oil meets the SAE Viscosity and API specifications previously mentioned. Several processes are used to rerefine oil. The only true rerefining process is one which treats the used oil as a crude oil, subjecting it to the same refinery processes normally used for geological crude, such as dehydration, vacuum distillation and hydrogenation. Waste oil provides a more consistent feedstock, compared to the geological crudes that a refinery typically processes. As a result, the finished oil should also be consistent in properties and quality."

Environment....

Every year Australia uses around 520 million litres of lubricating oil for industry and transport. Used oil can of course be a hazard. It contains many toxic and corrosive compounds. A litre of used oil can contaminate a million litres of water. However, around half of all oil used can be reused –indefinitely – as long as it is put through a high quality, re-refining process. That’s because according to the American Petroleum Institute (API), “oil doesn’t wear out; it just gets dirty”. While the API statement is an oversimplification of the facts – it is in essence true that between 60% and 75% of used oil remains intact and can be converted back into base oil.

EnviroLube, with its double-refined base oil, means up to 42% fewer greenhouse emissions, less acid rain, fewer fine particle emissions, lower toxic emissions, improved energy effciency and conservation of crude oil.

By choosing EnviroLube you are making a significant contribution to minimising pollution and improving resource utilisation when compared to using conventional oils.
